Annabelle Gurwitch is an actress, activist and New York Times Bestselling author. Most recently, her collection of essays on family, Wherever You Go, There They Are, stories about my family you might relate to, was called "a vivacious, madcap memoir" by O Magazine. Her book I See You Made an Efort was a New York Times bestseller and Turber Prize for American Humor fnalist. Her book You Say Tomato, I Say Shut Up (co- authored with Jef Kahn) is also a play which has toured in over 30 cities to date. Fired! was also a Showtime Comedy Special. Gurwitch gained a loyal following during her long stint cohosting Dinner & a Movie on TBS and years as a regular commentator on NPR. She’s writen for The New Yorker, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, McSweeney's, The Hollywood Reporter, O Magazine, Real Simple, Lenny Leter, Salon, and Time.com, amongst other publications.

Gurwitch was the news anchor on HBO's satirical Not Necessarily the News, and hosted the sustainability series WA$TED, on the Planet Green network. Her acting credits include: Beter Tings, Seinfeld, Boston Legal, Dexter, Melvin Goes to Dinner. A veteran of many lauded and even more misguided theatrical productions, she regularly performs at arts centers around the country, has made numerous appearances on Real Time with Bill Maher, CBS Early Show, The Today Show, Oprah, as well as with The Moth. Annabelle is a Jewish mother, a reluctant atheist, and an ardent environmentalist.
