J.C. Watts, Jr. is president and chief executive of Watts Partners, a boutique corporate and government affairs consulting firm he co-founded in 2003 and is president of Mustang Equipment (J. Deere dealerships) in San Antonio,Tx.

Mr. Watts was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1994 and served from January 1995 to January 2003. During his time in Congress, Mr. Watts was chairman of the Republican Conference from January 1999 to January 2003 and also served on the United States House Committees on Armed Services, Financial Services and Transportation and Infrastructure. Along with Congressman John Lewis, Mr. Watts led the effort to establish the National Museum of African American History and Culture and he also led the effort to establish the Homeland Security Department after the Oklahoma City bombing in April 1995.

Since leaving congress Mr. Watts has had several board of director assignments including BNSF and CSX railways, Clear Channel Communications, ITC Transportation, Terex Corporation and currently serves on the BOD of Dillard’s Department stores in Little Rock, Arkansas and Paycom Software in Okla City, Ok.

Mr. Watts earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism/public relations from the University of Oklahoma in 1981 and also led the Sooners to 2 Orange Bowl and 2 Big 8 Conference Championships as the starting quarterback.

He has published 2 books. What Color is a Conservative in 2003 and Dig Deep (7 Truths to Finding the Strength Within) in 2016. Watts is married with 6 kids and 8 grandkids.
