Brian Westbrook Speaker Profile: At A Glance

Brian Westbrook is a former NFL All-Pro running back who spent nine seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers. A two-time Pro Bowler, he played a key role in leading the Eagles to Super Bowl XXXIX. Known for his versatility and football IQ, Westbrook finished his career with over 10,000 all-purpose yards. Since retiring, he has built a successful career as a speaker and entrepreneur, sharing insights on leadership, perseverance, and teamwork.

Brian Westbrook's journey from a standout high school athlete to an NFL star and community leader is a testament to resilience, versatility, and purpose. Born in Fort Washington, Maryland, he attended DeMatha Catholic High School, where he excelled in both football and basketball. A torn ACL sidelined his senior football season, causing major college programs to look elsewhere. Undeterred, Westbrook committed to Villanova University, where he would go on to redefine what was possible for an FCS athlete. At Villanova, Westbrook became one of the most prolific all-purpose players in college football history. He set an NCAA record with 9,512 career all-purpose yards and became the first player at any level to record both 1,000 rushing and 1,000 receiving yards in a single season. His accolades include three First Team All-American honors and the 2001 Walter Payton Award as the nation's top FCS player. In 2023, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, becoming the first Villanova player to receive that honor. Drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft, Westbrook quickly became a fan favorite. Known for his dynamic playmaking ability, he earned two Pro Bowl selections and was named First Team All-Pro in 2007 after leading the NFL in yards from scrimmage. He played a pivotal role in the Eagles' run to Super Bowl XXXIX and finished his career with the San Francisco 49ers in 2010. Westbrook retired as the Eagles' all-time leader in total yards from scrimmage and was later inducted into the team's Hall of Fame. Off the field, Westbrook has remained deeply engaged in both business and philanthropy. He founded the Brian Westbrook Foundation, which focuses on empowering youth through financial literacy, leadership development, and vocational training. He also serves as Managing Director of the Athlete Entrepreneur Network, helping former athletes transition into business ventures. His passion for animal care led him to establish Westbrook Reiners, a horse breeding and training business based on his farm in Maryland. Westbrook continues to share his experiences as a speaker, author, and advocate. His children's book, "The Mouse Who Played Football," encourages young readers to embrace their unique strengths and persevere through challenges. Whether on the field, in the boardroom, or in the community, Brian Westbrook exemplifies leadership, adaptability, and a commitment to making a positive impact.
