Her early career saw her working as a pastry assistant at renowned establishments such as Union Square Café and Ilo Restaurant. She quickly climbed the ranks, earning the title of pastry chef at Michelin-starred restaurants CRU and Allen and Delancey. In 2009, MacIsaac and her husband, Chef Kyle Bailey, relocated to Washington, D.C., where they opened Birch & Barley. The restaurant received high praise, including a three-star review from The Washington Post. During her tenure with the Neighborhood Restaurant Group, she managed the pastry programs for 14 properties, including Buzz Bakery and GBD Fried Chicken and Doughnuts. Her inventive desserts and dedication to her craft earned her the title of Best Pastry Chef by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington in 2010. MacIsaac’s current venture, Buttercream Bakeshop, is a testament to her creativity and expertise. Located in the heart of D.C., the bakery is known for its imaginative and delectable desserts.
