Andrew Busch Speaker Profile: At A Glance

Economic Futurist Andrew Busch converts today’s chaos into tomorrow’s growth opportunities. He is known for intensely informative and highly entertaining keynotes. Drawing from deep research, he covers the economy, public policy & elections, and supercharged trends (AI, WFH, COVID, Climate). Then he takes all this research and applies it to your industry to show you where future growth opportunities will be. His crystal ball into the economic future is venture capital investments made today, paying off in 5-10 years down the road.

Andrew Busch is the former 1st Chief Market Intelligence Officer for the US government and economic futurist at AndrewBusch.com.  For the CFTC, he was charged with improving and enhancing the government’s understanding of the markets and the economy.  His job was to take all the news, information and data on the economy and markets; and filter it into condensed, easily understood research; then communicate it to the government and public. Andy provided economic and market briefings to White House, US House, US Senate, the SEC, the Federal Reserve Board and the US Treasury staff on a wide range of issues including interest rates, inflation, China’s influence on trade, and the impact of technology on the economy. Prior to joining the CFTC, Mr. Busch was CEO and founder of a boutique financial markets and policy research firm, Bering Productions, Inc (BPI). Before BPI, he was the Global Currency and Public Policy Strategist for Bank of Montreal (BMO) in Chicago. He is author of the book “World Event Trading” covering large crises, like infectious disease outbreaks and war, and their impact on the economy and markets. Today, he’s a consultant and keynote speaker with a wide range of clients including chemicals, financial services, energy, real estate, manufacturing, construction and agriculture.
  • The Future Economy: opportunities for growth

The world is going to see more economic change in the next 5 years than we have seen in the last 100 years. 2021 will be transformational as trends super-charged by the pandemic fully exert themselves on the economy. AI, robots, Zoom, ESG and bitcoin are just a few of the extraordinary tools being leveraged right now to help business overcome, adapt and thrive. Are you aligning yourself for what will occur? As a futurist and economist, Andy dives deep into exploring how innovation, policy changes and societal shifts drive opportunities for clients. Are you thinking about how to run your business better or how you can grow it faster? How are you challenging yourself with new ideas, new concepts, new innovation? Can you understand the economic forces driving change to lead you in transforming your business and adapting your strategy to take control of the future? Andy says, “Let’s solve these problems together by getting you the tools you need to be successful.”
  • Election Outcome and Beyond: Impact on the Economy, Business and Jobs

The outcome of the 2020 election will have the largest swing in economic policy in our lifetimes. With a unified Democratic Congress, the Biden administration will bring large changes impacting the entire economy. Fiscal stimulus, tax & trade policy and clean energy/environment will all see big changes. Banks, insurers and tech will likely see regulatory shifts that may disrupt their business models. Also, how does vaccine hesitancy and virus mutation change the focus for policy? Andrew Busch tackles all of this and answers the key questions: what does it mean for your industry and how you can prepare for it? In this keynote, Andy objectively breaks down the policies impacting the economy, business and jobs. He'll give you the winners and losers in each sector of the economy. Trade, tax, energy and environment will all be impacted and discussed. Andy takes your audience out of the current COVID chaos to provide confidence in the future.
  • ESG: the future of energy is now

Environmental, Social and Governance or ESG is considered one of the hottest investment themes today for clients and investment professionals. Andy explains why a Biden victory and the new EU budget will supercharge interest in ESG. This is already happening as record amount of money has flowed into sustainable focused ETFs and open-end mutual funds in both in 2019. Most striking, money flowed into ESG equity products in 2020 when almost all other equity funds saw money leave. But what actually is it and how do you define how to invest in companies that say they are doing it? How will this impact lending and borrowing for energy firms? As a former regulator and CMIO of the CFTC, Andy Busch explains how ESG came about, what the risks are and how ESG is trickier for investing than it looks. How does it fit into a bigger picture of the economy and how will it drive trends? After working for the agency that approved bitcoin, Andy brings a unique perspective to explaining why the SEC is not likely to approve ESG and regulate it. And why this will matter to all investment professionals and investors.
