Anja Manuel is a distinguished former diplomat, author, and advisor on foreign policy and technology. In addition, she is a Co-Founder and Principal at RiceHadleyGatesManuel LLC, a strategic consulting firm she established with Condoleezza Rice, Stephen Hadley, and Robert Gates.
From 2005 to 2007, Manuel served as a Special Assistant to the Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, focusing on South Asia policy. Prior to this role, she worked as an attorney at WilmerHale, dealing with Supreme Court and international cases, and represented clients before various U.S. government bodies. Manuel began her career as an investment banker at Salomon Brothers in London.
A cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School and Stanford University, Manuel has also lectured at Stanford University, teaching courses on U.S. foreign policy and technology policy.
