Bill Bradley is a former professional basketball player turned public servant and writer whose career spans elite athletics, national politics, and cultural commentary. A Rhodes Scholar at Oxford and a Princeton alumnus, he won Olympic gold in 1964 and played ten seasons with the New York Knicks, contributing to NBA championships in 1970 and 1973. After retiring from the NBA, Bradley entered elected office and served three terms as a U.S. senator from New Jersey, where he focused on tax policy, campaign finance reform, education, and deficit reduction.
During and after his Senate career, Bradley bridged policy, business, and public intellectual life. He has written seven books—several cited as New York Times bestsellers—including Time Present, Time Past and We Can All Do Better, and he has been a regular commentator on CBS Evening News. Bradley has taught as a visiting professor at Stanford, Notre Dame, and the University of Maryland, served in senior advisory roles in finance and consulting, and hosted the weekly SiriusXM program American Voices.
In recent years Bradley has turned to storytelling and endurance projects as forms of civic and personal reflection. He wrote and performed the filmed stage work Rolling Along: An American Story, appears in the documentary Epic Bill, and remains a frequent speaker on the intersections of sport, leadership, and public life—drawing on a singular trajectory from Rhodes Scholar and Hall of Famer to policymaker and author.
Bradley has pursued ambitious endurance challenges in later life—ultra-marathons, mountain climbs, and long-distance swims—that figure prominently in the documentary Epic Bill and the narrative arc of Rolling Along.
