At JP Morgan, Winters played a pivotal role in developing the credit derivatives market. In 2004, he was appointed co-CEO of the investment bank, a position he held until 2009. During the 2008 financial crisis, Winters was instrumental in JP Morgan's acquisition of Bear Stearns, showcasing his leadership in turbulent times.
