Bobby Berk Speaker Profile: At A Glance

Design expert, Emmy-nominated TV host, and founder Bobby Berk illustrates the critical connections between design and life. Bobby is perhaps best known as the resident design expert and member of the Fab Five on Netflix’s Emmy-winning series Queer Eye, bringing change to peoples’ lives by teaching them that a happy home means a happy life. With a ”superpower for transforming lives and living spaces” (Los Angeles Times), Bobby offers a memorable program for groups looking to empower their teams, uplift creativity, and build a welcoming company culture.

Bobby Berk's journey into the world of design is as inspiring as the spaces he creates. Born in Houston, Texas, and raised in Mount Vernon, Missouri, Bobby faced the challenges of growing up gay in a conservative environment. At 15, he left home, demonstrating early on the resilience and determination that would define his career. In 2003, with just $100 to his name, Bobby moved to New York City. He took on roles at retailers like Restoration Hardware and Bed Bath & Beyond, eventually becoming the Creative Director at Portico, a high-end home furnishings company. When Portico closed in 2006, Bobby seized the opportunity to launch his own online store, Bobby Berk Home, marking the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey in the design industry. Bobby's innovative approach to design and business led to the expansion of his brand, including the opening of brick-and-mortar stores in cities like Manhattan, Miami, and Atlanta. He later founded Bobby Berk Interiors + Design, a full-service design firm based in Los Angeles, offering a range of services from interior design to product development. His work has been featured on networks such as HGTV, NBC, CBS, and Bravo, showcasing his ability to transform spaces and lives through design. In 2018, Bobby became the resident design expert on Netflix's "Queer Eye," where his empathetic approach and keen eye for design touched audiences worldwide. After eight successful seasons, he announced his departure from the show in November 2023 to focus on expanding his design firm and other ventures. Bobby's influence in the design world continues to grow, solidifying his reputation as a transformative figure in the industry.
