Bobby Duffy is a Professor of Public Policy and Director of the Policy Institute at King's College London. With nearly 30 years in policy research and evaluation, he has worked across various public policy areas, including a secondment to the Prime Minister's Strategy Unit. Before joining King's in 2018, Duffy was Managing Director of Public Affairs for Ipsos MORI, leading a team of around 250 researchers across multiple cities. He also served as Global Director of the Ipsos Social Research Institute, overseeing operations in approximately 30 countries. Duffy chairs several advisory boards, including the Campaign for Social Science and the CLOSER Advisory Board. He is a member of the Executive of the Academy of Social Sciences and a trustee of British Future and the Centre for Transforming Access and Student Outcomes in Higher Education. As an author, Duffy has written The Perils of Perception – Why we’re wrong about nearly everything, published by Atlantic Books, which examines global misconceptions of social realities. His latest book, Generations - Does when you’re born shape who you are?, released in September 2021, challenges myths and stereotypes surrounding generational trends. Throughout his career, Duffy has been dedicated to bridging the gap between research and policy, aiming to address societal challenges through evidence-based strategies. His work continues to influence public discourse and policy development both in the UK and internationally.
