Brenda Darden Wilkerson is a nationally recognized leader in technology education and equity, currently serving as President and CEO of AnitaB.org. With over three decades of experience in tech and education, she has dedicated her career to expanding access to computer science and advocating for inclusive innovation. Wilkerson's journey into technology began unexpectedly during her undergraduate studies at Northwestern University. Initially on a pre-med track, she discovered a passion for computer science after taking required programming courses. This pivotal experience redirected her career path toward technology. Her professional career started in the tech industry, but she soon transitioned into education. At Chicago Public Schools (CPS), she served as Director of Computer Science and IT Education.
