Brian Lesser is a seasoned executive in the advertising and technology sectors, known for his leadership in pioneering data-driven advertising solutions. He began his career in the media industry in 2006 as Vice President at 24/7 Media, which was later acquired by WPP. At WPP, he played a pivotal role in founding Xaxis in 2011, a programmatic media buying platform that became a cornerstone of GroupM's digital strategy. He served as CEO of GroupM North America from 2015 to 2017, overseeing six media agencies and driving significant growth. In 2017, Lesser transitioned to AT&T as CEO of Advertising & Analytics, a $3 billion business that was rebranded as Xandr in 2018. Under his leadership, Xandr integrated traditional TV, addressable TV, streaming, and digital video into a unified advertising platform, emphasizing data-driven decision-making. After leaving AT&T in 2020, he joined InfoSum as Chairman and CEO, where he focused on developing privacy-first data collaboration solutions. His leadership helped InfoSum expand its presence in North America and Europe, attracting clients across various industries, including financial services, gaming, and entertainment. In September 2024, Lesser returned to WPP as Global CEO of GroupM, succeeding Christian Juhl. He brings a wealth of experience in media innovation and data technology to his new role, aiming to drive GroupM's transformation in the evolving advertising landscape. Throughout his career, Lesser has been recognized for his contributions to the industry, including being named Ad Age’s “40 Under 40” in 2014 and AdWeek’s “Executive of the Year” in 2018. Lesser holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He resides in New Jersey with his wife and three children.
