Brock Huard Speaker Profile: At A Glance
Brock Huard is a former NFL quarterback with a solid career playing for teams like the Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts. After retiring from professional football, he transitioned into broadcasting, becoming a respected NFL and college football analyst for Fox Sports. Brock is also deeply involved in coaching, currently serving as the tight ends coach at Valor Christian High School in Colorado. He brings a unique perspective that blends firsthand playing experience with insightful analysis. Beyond sports, he is known for his commitment to faith and mentoring young athletes.
Brock Huard is a former NFL quarterback and seasoned sports broadcaster who has recently transitioned into coaching to support his son's high school football journey. Born on April 15, 1976, in Seattle, Washington, Huard was raised in a football-centric family. His father, Mike Huard, was a high school football coach, and both of his brothers also played quarterback at the collegiate level. Brock himself was a standout at Puyallup High School, earning Gatorade National Player of the Year honors in 1994. He went on to play for the University of Washington Huskies, setting over 20 school records and leading the team to a Rose Bowl victory.
In 1999, Huard was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the NFL Draft. He played six seasons in the NFL, including stints with the Indianapolis Colts and a return to the Seahawks. Following his playing career, Huard transitioned into broadcasting, joining ESPN in 2008 as a college football analyst. In 2019, he moved to Fox Sports, where he became part of the network's No. 2 college football broadcast team, calling games alongside Jason Benetti. He also served as a sideline reporter for the United Football League (UFL) and co-hosted the "Brock and Salk" radio show on 710 ESPN Seattle.
In April 2025, Huard announced that he would be stepping away from his broadcasting roles to become the tight ends coach at Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. This decision was motivated by his desire to be more involved in his son Titus's high school football experience. Titus, a promising young quarterback, plays for Valor Christian, a school known for its strong football program and multiple state championships. Huard will work under head coach Mike Sanford Jr., a former college football offensive coordinator.
Despite stepping back from full-time broadcasting, Huard continues to stay connected to the sports community. He maintains his role as a radio host and remains open to future broadcasting opportunities. Huard's move into coaching reflects his commitment to family and mentorship, emphasizing the importance of being present during his son's formative years. His deep-rooted football background and passion for the game continue to influence his post-playing career, as he now focuses on developing the next generation of athletes.
