Brooke Baldwin is a veteran journalist, bestselling author, and advocate for women's empowerment. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001 with a double major in journalism and Spanish. Her early career included reporting roles at WVIR-TV in Charlottesville, Virginia, and WOWK-TV in West Virginia, before she joined WTTG in Washington, D.C., as a lead reporter. In 2008, Baldwin joined CNN, where she anchored CNN Newsroom with Brooke Baldwin for over a decade, covering major events such as the Obama and Trump administrations, natural disasters, and mass shootings.
In April 2021, Baldwin published her first book, Huddle: How Women Unlock Their Collective Power, which became a Wall Street Journal bestseller. The book explores how women support each other to create meaningful change, featuring interviews with figures like Ava DuVernay, Stacey Abrams, and Gloria Steinem. Baldwin's work emphasizes the importance of female solidarity and the collective strength women possess when they come together.
After leaving CNN in 2021, Baldwin continued her advocacy for women's empowerment. She hosted the Netflix reality series The Trust, which delves into the psychology of decision-making under pressure. Additionally, she has been involved in initiatives to amplify women's voices and has spoken at various events, including the ICAN Conference, where she discusses the power of collective action among women.
