Bruce Rector is a seasoned leader, speaker, and author with a diverse background spanning law, sports, and international youth development. Born in Anderson, Indiana, in 1963, he earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky in 1990 and practiced law for over two decades. His legal career included a tenure at Woodward Hobson and Fulton, LLP, and adjunct faculty positions at Indiana Wesleyan University and the University of Kentucky, where he taught in the MBA and Sport Leadership programs. Rector's professional journey also encompasses significant roles in sports. He served as an athletic trainer assistant for the University of Kentucky men's basketball team and spent four summers and a full season with the Indianapolis Colts of the NFL. In 1990, he became President of KBA Sports, Inc., a sports event and program management company in Lexington, Kentucky. Under his leadership, KBA Sports attracted over 500,000 visitors for various tournaments and events in its final year, showcasing his expertise in organizing large-scale sports programs. In 2003, Rector's commitment to youth leadership took him on a global stage as the 58th President of Junior Chamber International (JCI), a 200,000-member organization spanning 110 countries. During his presidency, he traveled to nearly 50 countries, working with young leaders worldwide to foster community development and leadership skills. His experiences during this time have deeply influenced his approach to leadership and personal development. As an author, Rector penned "Monday Morning Messages: Teaching, Inspiring and Motivating to Lead," published by Xephor Press in 2005. The book, endorsed by renowned authors like Ken Blanchard and Stephen Covey, offers practical insights into leadership and motivation. His engaging speaking style, characterized by humorous and uplifting anecdotes, resonates with audiences across various sectors, inspiring them to become more effective leaders in their communities and organizations. Currently residing in Lexington, Kentucky, with his wife Tabitha and son Trevor, Rector continues to contribute to community development and leadership training.
