Carlos Calderón is an Emmy Award-winning bilingual broadcaster and creative communications expert with over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry. Born in Mexico City, he initially pursued a degree in Architecture at Universidad Iberoamericana, specializing in architectural photography. His entry into the entertainment world was serendipitous; while showcasing his photography portfolio, a talent agent was more impressed by his presentation skills, leading to representation and a subsequent career in front of the camera. Calderón's television career began with appearances in numerous commercials, eventually leading him to host the Spanish-language version of "The Dating Game" in Hollywood. This opportunity marked the start of his journey in television, which later took him to Miami. There, he became a prominent figure on Univision, co-hosting the network's top-rated morning show, "Despierta América," for five years. His dynamic presence and engaging style earned him three national Emmy Awards—two for his work on "Despierta América" and one for "El Gordo y la Flaca," where he was recognized for Outstanding Talent in a Spanish-language Program. Beyond his television achievements, Calderón has made significant contributions to radio and digital media. He hosted the nationally syndicated radio show "El Colmillo" for five years and led "Acceso Máximo," the first live cable show in Spanish. His innovative approach to media also saw him present Univision’s first show to air on Facebook. In 2023, he returned to television as a co-host on Telemundo’s morning show, "Hoy Día," further solidifying his status as a versatile media personality. In addition to his broadcasting career, Calderón is committed to community empowerment. He founded a company dedicated to helping the Hispanic community in the U.S. build homes safely in native Mexican towns, thereby supporting local economies and preserving cultural heritage. His philanthropic efforts reflect his dedication to making a positive impact beyond the screen.
