Cedric The Entertainer Speaker Profile: At A Glance

Cedric The Entertainer is an award-winning actor, comedian, and producer best known for his roles in Barbershop, The Original Kings of Comedy, and the hit CBS series The Neighborhood. With a career spanning over three decades, he has become one of the most recognizable and respected figures in comedy and entertainment. Cedric has hosted Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and appeared in numerous films and television shows. He is also a philanthropist and advocate for arts education and community engagement.

Cedric Antonio Kyles, known worldwide as Cedric The Entertainer, was born on April 24, 1964, in Jefferson City, Missouri, and grew up in neighboring Caruthersville. His early years included working as an insurance claims adjuster and substitute teacher after earning a degree in mass communication from Southeast Missouri State University. During that time, he discovered his knack for comedy through local open mics and fraternity events, igniting the journey that would become his lifelong calling. In the 1990s, Cedric broke into national prominence, hosting BET’s ComicView and Def Comedy Jam. He then became a household name as a co-star on The Steve Harvey Show, and reached another milestone with The Original Kings of Comedy tour, alongside Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley, and Bernie Mac. This success translated to the big screen with roles in Barbershop, voice parts in Madagascar, Ice Age, and other animated hits, and the launch of his own shows like Cedric The Entertainer Presents. More recently, he took on roles behind the camera: executive producing and starring in CBS’s The Neighborhood, earning a 2023 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series. He also hosts and produces shows like The Greatest #AtHome Videos, and serves as executive producer on Bounce TV’s dramedy Johnson. In 2025, he joined the Las Vegas stage for Love & Laughter, a residency blending humor and music with Toni Braxton. Beyond entertainment, Cedric gives back through his foundation, supporting arts education and scholarships at his alma mater. He consistently champions community and mentorship. With more than three decades in the business, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he remains a dynamic force—whether on stage, screen, or in giving back.
