During his military career, Brett commanded the largest combat wing in the Air Force, the 18th Wing in Okinawa, Japan, where he managed a diverse array of operations from aviation to community support, involving over 25,000 U.S. service members and their families. His leadership extended to high-stakes environments, having flown more than 100 combat missions as an F-15 fighter pilot. Brett's strategic acumen is further highlighted by his tenure as the Director of Communications for U.S. Pacific Command, where he oversaw command and control networks supporting the largest geographic warfighting command in the DOD.
After retiring from the Air Force in 2014, Brett transitioned to the private sector, co-founding IronNet Cybersecurity. At IronNet, he played a pivotal role in developing advanced cyber detection solutions utilizing behavioral analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. He was instrumental in taking the company public in 2021, demonstrating his expertise in both technical and executive domains.
