Jennifer Polk Speaker Profile: At A Glance

Jennifer serves as Chief Marketing and Digital Experience Officer for Feeding America where she is leading the transformation of the marketing team, the Feeding America brand, and how the brand supports the organizational mission. Prior to joining Feeding America, Jennifer led digital marketing and product marketing teams, digital products, and client relationship portfolios at Gartner, Edelman Digital, Sears Holdings Corporation and JP Morgan Chase. Jennifer serves on several boards, including the Board of Directors for the Academy for Global Citizenship in Chicago and the Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Board of Southern Illinois University Carbondale College of Business and Analytics. She holds an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Jennifer resides in the Chicago suburbs with her husband Michael and their daughters and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Jennifer Polk is an experienced digital leader skilled at transforming marketing teams and brands, engaging audiences and delivering business results. Ms. Polk is the Chief Marketing and Digital Experience Officer (CMXO) of Feeding America. She leads brand marketing, digital marketing and paid media, and direct marketing to raise awareness of the issue of hunger; increase public empathy and support for the issue through fundraising and advocacy; and leverage digital platforms to connect those experiencing food insecurity with food and resources.     Before joining Feeding America, Ms. Polk previously held leadership roles at Gartner, Inc., a global research and advisory firm. She served as Managing Vice President of its Technology and Service Provider Group where she led a global team of analysts, advising technology software CEOs on product marketing. She served as Chief of Research and Vice President of Gartner’s Marketing and Communications Group where she spearheaded research and digital product optimization, oversaw new digital product launch and sales training, and led its annual marketing conference. Additionally, Ms. Polk served as Research Director of Gartner for Marketing Leaders, where she launched and led groundbreaking marketing research on digital commerce and personalization and advised CMO on marketing strategy, digital commerce, personalization and multichannel marketing.  Prior to joining Gartner, Ms. Polk served as Vice President of Digital Marketing and Client Services at Edelman Digital, a digital marketing agency, where she led a client service team and delivered integrated, digital marketing strategies and campaigns for Darden Restaurants, Burger King, SC Johnson & Son, Inc., The True Value Company, McCormick Foundation and By The Hand Club. Previously, Ms. Polk served as Director of Social Media and led social marketing strategy and execution for Sears Holdings Corporation.  Ms. Polk serves on several boards, including the Board of Directors for the Academy for Global Citizenship in Chicago and the Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Board of Southern Illinois University Carbondale College of Business and Analytics. She has previously served on the Board of Directors of the Tyler Volenec Foundation, a non-profit organization providing financial assistance to families of children battling pediatric cancer. She also served on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer of the Quad County African American Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit committed to the growth of minority-owned businesses. Ms. Polk is passionate about causes that benefit underserved communities, specifically women's issues, hunger, social injustice, economic and racial disparity.  Ms. Polk lives in the Chicago suburbs with her husband Michael, their daughters and their dog, Leia. She is a member of Calvary Church of Naperville. Ms. Polk is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, and a Fellow in the 2023 cohort of the Chicago Urban League IMPACT Leadership Development Program.
