Kate Gladdin Speaker Profile: At A Glance
If your audience is one "just stay positive" away from rolling their eyes, Kate Gladdin is your speaker. After losing her sister and her mum to careless drivers twelve years apart, this Sydney-born Aussie learned firsthand that some situations have no silver lining to find — so she made it her mission to work out how to create the good instead, through the way we choose to respond. A TEDx speaker, international keynote speaker and author of Okay, Now What?, Kate pairs honest storytelling, humor and her practical 3R Strategy to help teams and leaders interrupt reactive spirals and take purposeful action on what comes next.
Tell a room full of people dealing with layoffs, burnout or personal loss to “look for the silver lining,” and you may lose them before you’ve really begun. Kate Gladdin understands why. She’s lived through moments where there was no good to find.
At 20, Kate lost her sister Nicole to a reckless driver in Thailand. Years later, her mum Julie was killed by a reckless driver while visiting Kate in Wyoming. Neither loss came with a bright side. What Kate found instead were problems she could do something about—and a question that became the heart of her work: “What good can I create?”
That question led to travel safety education reaching more than 200,000 students, campaigns to help travelers get home safely, and advocacy for stronger accountability for dangerous drivers. It also shapes Kate’s keynotes. She doesn’t ask audiences to deny what’s hard. She helps them recognize when they’re reacting on autopilot, find room to choose their response, and take purposeful action to change what happens next.
Kate is an international resilience speaker, author of Okay, Now What?, host of the podcast of the same name, and director of the Nicole & Julie Fitzsimons Foundation. Named one of Australia’s 100 Women of Influence, she has spoken to more than 300,000 people worldwide. Her 3R Strategy gives corporate teams, leaders and women’s conference audiences practical tools they can return to when change and pressure hit.
Onstage, Kate brings the honesty her story deserves—and the humor, energy and Aussie warmth that make a room feel at ease. Originally from Sydney, she now lives in Wyoming with her husband, Nate, and their dogs, Jaku and George. The question she gets most? “What on earth is an Aussie doing in Wyoming?” Mainly enjoying the snowy winters. Unexpected? So is most of Kate’s story.
Kate’s message stays with people because it gives them something to do: There isn’t always good to find. But there’s always good you can create in how you respond.

Kate's message ended 15 minutes ago and I had about 10 people of our team come up to me and say "that was absolutely tremendous" — the value she brought to our team was beyond measure. At the right time too - we've just gone through our biggest acquisition with a lot of change and I knew Kate would be the speaker to deliver the message they needed to better transition through it.
— ALICIA BUCHTA| SENIOR DIRECTOR OF TALENT | PROAMPAC
Kate's message came at exactly the right time for our team. Change can be an overwhelming topic, but she has a way of making it feel manageable and even hopeful. What stood out most was her ability to meet people where they are and give them practical ways to move forward. Employees are still talking about the tools she shared and the perspective she brought. Just as importantly, Kate took the time to understand our organization and what our employees needed to hear. I would recommend her without hesitation to any organization navigating change. She leaves people feeling equipped, confident, and ready to take the next step.
