Maziar has twenty-five years of experience investing in international and emerging markets. Previously, he was a senior member of the Investment Strategy Group at Goldman Sachs, responsible for emerging markets and macro investments, drawing on his expertise in the economic and market impact of geopolitics. Before his time at Goldman, Maziar was head of the Emerging Markets Group at MassMutual/Babson Capital Management. He also worked at the IMF, LTCM, Putnam Investment Management, and the World Bank. Maziar's interest in international politics started involuntarily when the Iranian Revolution interrupted his teenage years. It grew from there through his academic and career pursuits. He holds a doctorate in international finance and economic development, an MBA, and a bachelor's degree in business administration from George Washington University. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the board of Pardis for Children, Inc., a New York-based nonprofit dedicated to Persian language and culture.
