Mike Golic Speaker Profile: At A Glance

Mike Golic is a former NFL defensive lineman turned iconic sports broadcaster. A Notre Dame graduate, he spent eight seasons in the NFL with the Houston Oilers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Miami Dolphins before transitioning into media. Golic became a household name as co-host of ESPN Radio’s Mike & Mike, one of the most influential sports talk shows of its era. Known for his humor, honesty, and athlete-first perspective, he now hosts GoJo and Golic and continues to offer sharp insight on sports, leadership, teamwork, and life after the game.

Mike Golic is co-host of ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike in the Morning show (6-10 a.m. ET), which premiered October 12, 1998 and is carried by more than 200 affiliates nationwide. He also serves as an analyst for ESPN and ESPN2's NFL studio programming, as well as for the networks' college football game coverage and Arena Football League coverage. Golic joined ESPN in 1995 as an NFL reporter/analyst for Sunday NFL Countdown. Since then he has worked as the color commentator for the Arena Football League (1996-98) and the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars pre-season games (1995-98). In 1998, Golic began serving as college football analyst for ESPN and ABC, and was an original analyst for NFL 2Night, the five-night-per-week news and information program on ESPN2. That program ran through the 2002 season. Beginning in 2003, he held a similar position on ESPN2's NFL Live. Golic and his ESPN Radio co-host Mike Greenberg, with a special guest appearance by Michael Vick, were featured in the Radio network's second on-air television promo. Golic is a nine-year NFL veteran, playing defensive tackle for the Houston Oilers, Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins. During his seven years in Philadelphia, he began his television career with a weekly segment on the Randle Cunningham Show. He received a Mid-Atlantic Region Emmy Award for his feature “,Golic's Got It.”, Golic, born Dec. 12, 1962, is a 1985 graduate of the University of Notre Dame where he served as captain of the football team during his senior season. He also wrestled for the Irish. Golic is married with three children.
