In addition to co-anchoring her show, Harlow frequently reports from the field during breaking news events. She covered the 2015 Paris terror attacks, anchoring from the ground for two weeks and focusing on the personal stories of victims and their families. She also provided extensive coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings and has reported on the recovery and resilience of several women who lost limbs in the attack.
Harlow is deeply committed to reporting on income inequality and exploring solutions to closing the opportunity gap for women and minorities. She launched the multimedia series "American Opportunity," which shines a light on disparity across America.
Harlow joined CNN in 2008 after working as an anchor for the Forbes Video Network and as an anchor and reporter for NY1 News. Born and raised in Minnesota, she graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Columbia University and also studied at King's College London.
Harlow is the proud mother of daughter Sienna and son Luca with her husband Sinisa. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a member of the 2019 Class of Henry Crown Fellows within the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute. She previously served on the Board of Trustees of the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club in New York City. In 2020, she was the recipient of the John Jay Award from Columbia College for distinguished professional achievement.
