Sterling Anderson is a world expert in autonomous vehicle technology. In 2014, he joined Tesla, where he lead the design, development, and launch of the Tesla Model X. Following the launch of the Model X, Sterling led the team that delivered Tesla Autopilot. In early 2017, he co-founded Aurora with the former leaders of Google’s and Uber’s respective self-driving programs to bring the benefits of this technology to market safely, quickly and broadly.
Sterling holds four patents and over a dozen publications in autonomous vehicle systems. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University and an MS and PhD in robotics from MIT.
