Bo Young Lee is a seasoned leader in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), with over two decades of experience driving transformative change across global organizations. She currently serves as the President of AnitaB.org Advisory, a division of the nonprofit dedicated to advancing equity and belonging in the technology sector. In this role, Bo leads initiatives that help tech companies implement systemic DEI strategies tailored to their unique cultures and business objectives.
Before joining AnitaB.org, Bo made a significant impact at Uber Technologies as the company's first Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer. Appointed in 2018, she was tasked with leading a comprehensive cultural transformation following an internal DEI crisis. Under her leadership, Uber achieved notable milestones, including a significant increase in underrepresented people of color and women in leadership roles. The company also earned recognition as a top workplace for people with disabilities and LGBTQ+ employees.
Bo's career spans various leadership positions, including serving as the first Global Diversity and Inclusion Officer for Marsh & McLennan's Risk and Insurance Services businesses. She also launched and led Aon/Hewitt Associates’ Global Emerging Workforce Solutions practice, the first DEI consultancy established by a major consulting firm. Additionally, Bo has held diversity leadership roles at Ernst & Young, National Grid, and Catalyst, a nonprofit focused on advancing women in business.
An advocate for inclusive leadership, Bo has provided pro bono guidance to organizations such as the League of American Orchestras, NYC Arts in Education, and the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility.
